COMMON QUESTIONS

You might be wondering…

How do I know which type of therapy is right for me?

You don't have to figure that out before you get in touch. Our free 15-minute consultation is specifically designed to help us understand what you're dealing with and which approach is most likely to help. We'll be honest with you about what the evidence says.

What's the difference between CBT and approaches like ACT or CFT?

CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. Third-wave approaches like ACT and CFT shift the emphasis slightly, less about changing the content of thoughts, more about changing your relationship with them. In practice, our therapists often weave all of these together, depending on what's most useful for you.

Can EMDR be done online?

Yes. EMDR adapts well to online delivery, and our therapists are trained to work in this format. You'll need a stable internet connection and a private space. Many clients find online EMDR just as effective as in-person work.

How many sessions will I need?

It genuinely depends on what you're working with. Focused difficulties can sometimes shift in 6–12 sessions. Complex or long-standing presentations usually benefit from more time. We'll give you an honest, realistic view at your initial consultation.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a space to slow down and take stock. We’ll gently explore what’s brought you here, what’s feeling difficult, and what you’d like to get from therapy. There’s no pressure to open up more than you’re ready for. It’s also a chance to see if we’re the right fit for each other.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. It’s flexible, secure, and means you can access support from the comfort of your own space. We’ll make sure it still feels personal and grounded.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re asking the question — it probably is. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Maybe things feel stuck. Heavy. Repetitive. Or maybe you just want to feel more like yourself. We’re here for all of that.

How often will I need sessions?

Most people start with weekly sessions, but this is flexible. We’ll talk together about what feels sustainable and supportive for you.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work?

That’s completely valid — and more common than you think. Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. What matters is finding the right space, at the right time, with the right support. We’re here when you’re ready to try again.

What if I don’t know what kind of therapy I need?

That’s totally okay. You don’t need to come in with a label or a plan. We’ll figure it out together. Our therapists are trained to help guide the process — gently, collaboratively, and without judgment.

Do you offer consultations before I commit?

Yes. We offer free 15-minute phone consultations so you can ask questions, share a bit about what’s going on, and see if we feel like the right fit. No pressure. No hard sell. Just space to explore.

How much are your fees?

Sessions are priced between £100 - £150

You can self-fund or use private health insurance if this is included within your policy —we’re registered with providers including BUPA, AXA, AVIVA and others.

What qualifications do our therapists have?

All our therapists are BABCP-accredited and trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with extra depth in at least one third-wave approach—like ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, or mindfulness-based work.

Each therapist brings a minimum of five years’ experience, and shares our commitment to working in a way that’s thoughtful, values-led, and human.
